Am Samstag geht es für die vierte Station der Diamond League 2016 über den Teich, nach Eugene zum Prefontaine Classic.
Nach der Vorstellung von Almaz Ayana in Rabat über 5000m darf man besonders gespannt sein, was Genzebe Dibaba zu bieten hat. Allerdings fehlt sie derzeit trotz Ankündigung vorige Woche auf der Startliste. Genzebe Dibaba sagte aufgrund einer Verletzung ihren Start ab.
Unabhängig davon werden natürlich besonders in Eugene auf viele spannende Entscheidung hoffen. Einige Bewerbe finden bereits am Freitag Abend (Ortszeit) statt. Deutschland wird durch Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch (Hochsprung), Gesa Felicitas Krause (3000m Hindernis), Thomas Röhler und Johannes Vetter (beide Speerwurf), sowie Nadine Müller, Julia Fischer und Shanice Craft (alle Diskuswurf) im Hayward Field vertreten sein.

Die Prefontaine Classic Friday Night (5000m Frauen, 10000m Herren) wird von USATF.tv übertragen. Allerdings ist eine Plus-Mitgliedschaft bei Runnerspace notwendig. Die Übertragung beginnt um 05:20 MESZ am Samstag.
