Das Meeting in Lievin hat die Latte hoch gesteckt, aber auch beim nächsten Stop der World Indoor Tour darf man sich von den Protagonisten einiges erwarten. Das Meeting findet nicht wie üblich in Boston sondern in New York statt, da das Reggie Lewis Center aktuell als Impfstation gegen Covid-19 dient. Mit Maximilian Thorwirth und Amos Bartelsmeyer sind auch zwei Deutsche auf der Meldeliste. Sam Parsons ist bislang auf der offiziellen Startliste nicht zu sehen.

Nachdem der ÖLV in Sopot vor zwei Jahren mit Andreas Vojta (team2012.at) und Beate Schrott (Union St. Pölten) noch zwei Starter bei der Hallen WM hatte, vertritt heuer „nur“ Stephanie Bendrat (Union Salzburg) Österreichs Farben. Mehrkampfrekordlerin Ivona Dadic (Union St. Pölten), die auf Rang 27 der Indoor und Outdoorbestenliste lag, wurde von der IAAF eingeladen, gab jedoch der Olympiavorbereitung den Vorzug.
Der Vorlauf von Stephanie Bendrat findet am Samstag ab 01:35 Uhr MEZ statt. Das Finale wäre um 04:30 Uhr MEZ.
