Am Sonntag findet der London Marathon als reiner Elitelauf mit Peter Herzog (Union Salzburg Leichtathletik) statt. Für Deutschland sind derzeit noch Arne Gabius und Anna Hahner auf der Meldeliste zu finden. Mo Farah wird dabei einer der Tempomacher für die Gruppe um Arne Gabius sein. Von einigen mit Spannung erwartet wird das Duell zwischen Eliud Kipchoge und Kenenisa Bekele, welches nun keines mehr ist.

Die Frauen starten um 8:15 Uhr MESZ, die Männer um 11:15 Uhr MESZ. Das Frauenrennen wird ab 8 Uhr von BBC TWO übertragen, die Männer dann ab 11 Uhr auf BBC ONE. Ab 14 Uhr übernimmt wieder BBC TWO.

ZDF überträgt eine Zusammenfassung in der Sportreportage ab 17:10 Uhr.
