Raphael Holzdeppe (Stabhoch), Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch (Hoch) und die Schweizerin Lea Sprunger (400m) sind auch am Start.

Mehrkampfrekordlerin Ivona Dadic (Union St. Pölten), die auf Rang 27 der Indoor und Outdoorbestenliste lag, wurde von der IAAF eingeladen, gab jedoch der Olympiavorbereitung den Vorzug.
Der Vorlauf von Stephanie Bendrat findet am Samstag ab 01:35 Uhr MEZ statt. Das Finale wäre um 04:30 Uhr MEZ.

3. und somit vorletzter Stop der IAAF World Indoor Tour am Mittwoch in Stockholm. Nach dem 5000m Weltrekord von Genzebe Dibaba und dem österreichischen Rekord durch Jennifer Wenth (SVS Leichtathletik) gibt es heuer keine heimische Beteiligung beim Globen Galan (ehemals XL Galan). Gleich zwei Weltrekorde sollen bei diesem Meeting in Angriff genommen werden – die Meile bei den Frauen (4:17.14 Doina Melinte) und die 1000m bei den Herren (2:14.96 – Wilson Kipketer)

Ayanleh Souleiman macht die Ankündigung wahr und läuft in 2:14,20 neuen 1000m Hallenweltrekord. Die 200m Splits: 25.42, 52.08 (26.65), 1:19.44 (27.36), 1:46.97 (27.53), 2:14.20 (27.23).
Auch Genzebe Dibaba macht die Ankündigung wahr und bricht den Meilenweltrekord. Die neue Zeit steht bei 4:13,31. Die Splits: 209m 31.73, 409m 1:03.59, 609m 1:34.98, 809m: 2:06:69, 1009m: 2:38.84, 1209m: 3:10.77, 1409m: 3:42.31, 1500m: 3:56.27 – Meile 4:13,31.
Abdalelah Haroun stellte auch noch eine Weltbestleistung über 500m in 59,83s auf.

Gleich 26 Weltmeister treffen sich am Donnerstag zur kleinen WM-Revanche in Zürich, wo es vor allem auch um die Hälfte der Diamanten der Diamond League geht. Am nächsten Freitag in Brüssel wird die zweite Hälfte vergeben. Highlights sind schwer heraus zu greifen, da nahezu alle Bewerbe mit den weltbesten Athleten geschmückt sind.
Die Stabhochsprungentscheidung der Männer findet bereits einen Tag zuvor, am Mittwoch, im Züricher Hauptbahnhof statt.
