Am 26. und 27. Mai folgt in Eugene mit dem Prefontaine Classic die dritte Station der IAAF Diamond League Saison 2017. Viele die Rang und Namen in der internationalen Leichtathletik haben, sind angekündigt. Über 5000m der Frauen spricht Genzebe Dibaba von einem Weltrekordversuch. Mit dabei sind mit Raphael Holzdeppe, David Storl, Max Heß, Gesa Felicitas Krause und Katharina Molitor auch 5 DLV-Athleten.

Celliphine Chepteek Chespol (Jg. 99 / KEN) gewann die 3000m Hindernis trotz Einrichtung des Schuhes beim vorletzten Wassergraben und 2-3s reinem Zeitverlust in 8:58,78. Gesa Felicitas Krause lief in 9:20,32 auf Rang 7. Katarina Molitor warf den Speer auf 60,91m und belegte Rang 8. Genzebe Dibaba verpasste den 5000m Weltrekord siegte aber in starken 14:25,22.

Am 13. Mai folgt in Shanghai die zweite Station der Diamond League Saison, mit Lukas Weißhaidinger (ÖTB OÖ LA) ist auch wieder mal ein Österreicher in der Diamond League vertreten. Der Diskuswurf wird als „gemischter Bewerb“ (Frauen und Männer werfen abwechselnd) ausgetragen und startet um 18:50 Uhr MESZ. Dazu startet auch wie üblich das IAAF Fantasy Diamond Race, wo jeder sein Athletenteam für jedes Meeting bestimmen kann und die jeweiligen Meetingssieger einen Preis erhalten. Die alte ÖLV Gruppe ist anscheinend nicht mehr verfügbar. Der neue PIN lautet 2626837.

TV + Livestream – Freitag/Samstag 22/23.07.2016

BBC Two überträgt am Freitag von 21-23 Uhr MESZ live. Auf Red Button beginnt die Übertragung bereits um 20 Uhr MESZ. Von 23-23:30 folgt auf Red Button noch ein Interview mit Jessica Ennis-Hill.
Am Samstag übernimmt BBC One und übertägt von 14:15-18:15 Uhr MESZ live.
Eurosport 2 Deutschland überträgt ebenso von 21-23 Uhr MESZ live am Freitag und von 16-18 Uhr am Samstag.
