Am Donnerstag ab 20 Uhr MESZ gibt es auf BBC eine einstündige Vorschau/Einstimmung auf die am Freitag startende WM in London 2017. Am Freitag um 19 Uhr folgt bereits die Erföffnung, die mit den selben Links funktionieren sollte.

Plot:

Gabby Logan looks ahead to the World Athletics Championships with Michael Johnson, Colin Jackson, Denise Lewis and Paula Radcliffe. Following on from the huge success of the 2012 Olympic Games, London is again the host city as the world’s finest athletes gather for fierce competition on track and field.

The greatest sprinter of all time, Jamaica’s Usain Bolt, is expected to make his final appearance at these championships as the eight-times Olympic champion and fastest man on the planet goes for yet more glory in the 100m and 4x100m relay. Other superstars on show include Britain’s finest-ever distance runner Mo Farah, who attempts to add to his historic ‚quad-double‘ in the 5,000m and 10,000m after winning both races at London 2012, the 2015 World Championships in Beijing and 2016 Rio Olympics.

Nach BBC, die am Montag I am Bolt gezeigt haben, traf Tim Tonder Usain Bolt zu einem Exklusivinterview vor dem großen Abschied. Eine 50-minütige Dokumentation wird am Samstag auf ARD gezeigt, bevor es um 22:45 Uhr MESZ zum letzten 100m Finale für Usain Bolt geht.

Er ist der erfolgreichste Leichtathlet aller Zeiten und wurde durch seine längst schon weltberühmte Bogenschützen-Geste zum wichtigsten Markenzeichen seiner Sportart: der Jamaikaner Usain Bolt. Er gewann elf Weltmeistertitel und neun Olympische Goldmedaillen, von denen er eine wegen einer positiven Dopingprobe eines Staffelkameraden wieder abgeben musste. Nach der WM Anfang August in London wird der Weltrekordhalter über die 100m, 200m und mit der 4x100m-Staffel seine einzigartige Karriere beenden. Der 30-jährige Sprinter will das schaffen, was andere Superstars verpasst haben: aufhören, bevor man anfängt zu verlieren!

„Sportschau“-Reporter Tim Tonder hat Usain Bolt nach 2009 zum zweiten Mal in Jamaika besucht. Am Montag, als Einstimmung zum Abschied von Usain Bolt von der weltleichtathletikszene gibt es seinen Film „I am Bolt“ auf BBC erstmals? im Free TV. Im Vorjahr kam der Film am 28. November in die deutschen Kinos.

Plot:

Captivating documentary profiling Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, the fastest man in history and one of the greatest Olympians of all time. The film follows Bolt as he prepares to go for gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Competing in the 100m and 200m races, he attempts to make history by winning these events for a record third time.

In addition to following his training, the documentary features archival footage of his life and phenomenal accomplishments. With a career that has already rewritten the record books, Bolt stakes his claim as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

Der Supersaturday von den Olympischen Spielen 2012 am Sonntag nochmal zum Nachfühlen.

Plot:

Ahead of the London 2017 World Championships, four-time Olympic champion Michael Johnson looks back to London 2012 and the subsequent journey for three of the golden heroes from Super Saturday – Sir Mo Farah, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and Greg Rutherford.

Michael visits Jess in Sheffield to hear her memories of what has been described as the greatest day in British sporting history, as well as her incredible journey afterwards, which includes giving birth to her first child Reggie and going on to win gold at the World Championships just 13 months later.

Greg and his family then welcome Michael to Arizona, and they discuss the ups and downs of his career over the last five years. Mo charts his extraordinary non-stop success on the track while remembering the sacrifices he made off it.

The documentary explores what it takes to be a world-class athlete and the challenges of staying at the top. Through the unique stories of Jess, Mo and Greg, Michael discovers what is so captivating about athletics, what it takes to reach and perform at this level within the sport and what the next generation of stars will face as they prepare for the first World Championships to be held in the UK.

In this special programme, Jessica meets Olympic bronze medal hammer thrower Sophie Hitchon and talks to her about life as a young athlete, the expectation and scrutiny that is put on sports stars, and what it is like to deal with pressure on and off the track.

There are also revealing interviews with middle-distance runner Laura Muir, marathon man Josh Griffiths, 110m hurdler Andy Pozzi and sprinter Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake.

Der neue deutsche Speerwurfrekordler Johannes Vetter ist morgen, Sonntag, zu Gast in SWR BW Sport im Dritten. Den Rekord über 94,44m stellte er beim Meeting in Luzern auf und damit schob er sich an Platz 2 der ewigen Bestenliste hinter Weltrekordler Jan Zelezny.
