Zersenay Tadese plant am Samstag dem 06. April einen Weltrekordversuch am Halbmarathon. Dabei gilt es die eigene Marke von 58:23 zu unterbieten. Es gibt auch einen Gratislivestream der um 11:50 (10 Minuten) vor dem Start beginnen soll.
Als Gegner stellen sich unter anderem Philemon Limo (KEN, Sieger 2011 in 59:30), der Cross WM Dritte Teklemariam Medhin (ERI Debüt – mit interessanter Geschichte über die Anreise zur Cross WM), sowie Pius Mayo (KEN 59:25 PB), Daniel Chebii (KEN 59:49 PB) und Yonas Kifle (ERI 59:30 PB)
