Auch die 108. Millrose Games finden am Samstag Ortszeit statt. Vielleicht als spannendstes, aber mit Sicherheit prestigeträchtigstes Rennen gilt die Wanamaker Mile wo nicht nur Matthew Centrowitz, Nick Willis, Will Leer, Bernard Lagat, Evan Jager sondern mit Edward Cheserek und John Gregorek zwei UO-Teamkollegen von Niki Franzmair im Feld. Dazu kommen auch noch Leo Manzano, Pat Casey…
Bei den Frauen ist das komplette? Nike Oregon Project am Start. Neben Mary Cain, Shannon Rowbury, Treniere Moser, Jordan Hasay darf man gespannt sein, wer sich ins Rampenlicht rücken wird. Über 1000m der Männer könnte auch der amerikanische Rekord fallen. Duane Solomon, Erik Sowinski und Robby Andrews befinden sich im Feld.
Aber auch die restlichen Bewerbe und Felder sollte man sich als Leichtathletikfan sicher genauer ansehen.

Am Samstag folgt bereits in New York mit dem „Adidas Grand Prix“ die nächste Station der Diamond League. Die Meldelisten sind bereits verfügbar. Gespannt darf man zum Beispiel auf das zweite Rennen der Saison von David Rudisha sein. Im Hochsprung duellieren sich die zuletzt besten Bohdan Bondarenko und Mutaz Essa Barshim!

Laut Runnerspace darf man aus U20 sicht auch auf die „Girls Dream Mile“ mit Alexa Efraimson gespannt sein. Alexa Efraimson ist nun im 1500er am Start. Elise Cranny hat ihren Start leider abgesagt.

Kann Brenton Rowe (team2012.at), nach seinen 3:41,91 über 1500m vergangene Woche, nun über 5000m das EM-Limit für Zürich auf Anhieb knacken? Das Limit für die Freiluft EM in Zürich über 5000m liegt bei 13:40,00. Neben Brenton Rowe sind, wie bereits beim Sydney Track Classic, aber auch einige internationale Bekannte am Start. Valerie Adams (NZL), Sally Pearson (AUS), David Oliver (USA), LaShawn Merritt (USA), Isaiah Koech (KEN), Duane Solomon (USA), aber auch die australische Nachwuchs Hochsprunghoffnung Eleanor Patterson ist gemeldet. Über 800m der Frauen hat sich Weltmeisterin Eunice Sum (KEN) angemeldet. Über 1500m der Frauen läuft Zoe Buckman (AUS) unter anderem gegen Susan Kuijken (NED) und Mercy Cherono (KEN).
